During the 11th BRICS Heads of Intellectual Property Offices (HIPO) meeting held in Cape Town – South Africa on April 14-16, the pro tempore presidency of the IP BRICS was transferred to the BRPTO, which will be responsible for the coordination of the block’s activities for a year.

3月27日、ブラジル知的財産協会(ABPI)が、ブラジル特許庁(INPI)のクラウジオ・ヴィラール・フルタード新長官を招いた会合を開き、フルタード氏は今後のINPIのビジョン、運営体制に関してプレゼンテーションを行った。
On March 27, the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI) organized a meeting with Claudio Vilar Furtado, BRPTO’s new president.
On February 11th , the nomination of Cláudio Vilar Furtado was announced in the Federal register. Licks Attorneys had already published the information on January 8th following the declaration by the Ministry of the Economy.
The Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BRPTO) and the Japan Patent Office (JPO) formalized this Wednesday 16th January in Tokyo the agreement to renew the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot program between Brazil and Japan. Liane Lage, Director of Patents, Computer programs and Topographies of Integrated circuits of the INPI, and Susumu Iwasaki, Director of JPO’s Third Division of Patents (Chemistry and Life and Material Sciences) were present during the ceremony.
The Ministry of the Economy announced this Tuesday, January 8th, the nomination of Mr. Cláudio Vilar Furtado as the new President of the Brazilian Patent Office (BRPTO).
