Alexandre Schiller began his career in 2005 at a traditional and prestigious litigation firm in Rio de Janeiro, practicing law before state and federal courts as well as high courts. He joined us in January 2019.
Mr. Schiller practice has extensive experience with complex litigation, focusing on commercial and regulatory matters, tax issues, government contracts and civil litigation. He has represented clients in several litigation cases related to telecommunications and energy and is particularly well versed in administrative proceedings before government agencies at the federal, state and municipal level, such as ANEEL, ANATEL, AGENERSA and AGETRANSP.
Mr. Schiller just completed the Master’s degree in Regulatory Law at the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in Rio de Janeiro and constantly writes about market and regulatory matters.
Mr. Schiller advised two important groups in the energy sector in administrative and judicial disputes involving ANEEL’s regulatory rules, related to penalties imposed by the delay in the beginning of the commercial operation and illegalities in the application of energy compensation rules, which also led to the alteration of sectorial rules. Mr. Schiller also represented a major player in the telecommunications sector in several class actions involving questions regarding the quality and scope of mobile services, in matters of national repercussion and broad economic and social interest.
