Ana Luíza Fernandes Calil joined Licks Attorneys’ Rio de Janeiro office as an Attorney at Law in 2019. She is a Ph.D. Candidate at The University of Sao Paulo (USP) pursuing a degree in Administrative Law. Her practice focuses on highly specialized regulatory disputes (both judicial and administrative) and government contracts. Before joining Licks Attorneys, Ana Luíza gained experience as an Associate Attorney with a prominent Brazilian law firm, advising and representing large national companies in complex disputes regarding administrative, regulatory, and environmental law. Having previously worked with a boutique law firm advising national and international companies with investments in Brazil, her expertise also encompasses knowledge of energy and oil and gas. Ana Luíza was a Professor of Administrative and Environmental Law at The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and still teaches as an invited professor in several courses. She also works as a Regulation Researcher with many regulatory agencies. She also holds a Master’s degree in Public Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ).
