Regis Arslanian, a partner at Licks Attorneys, had the article “Patents: the threat to our legal certainty” published on the ‘Blog do Fausto,’ by the newspaper: O Estado de S. Paulo. His article addresses the Attorney General’s Office’s attempt to suspend the operation of the Sole Paragraph of Article 40 of Brazil’s Industrial Property Law (LPI). This initiative was launched in anticipation of the hearing of a Direct Action of Unconstitutionality (ADI 5529) which deals with the same issue and is to be judged by STF (the Brazilian Supreme Court) on May 26, 2021.
