Matheus Santos has been an engineer at Licks Attorneys’ Rio de Janeiro office since 2025. Mr. Santos works with the firm’s Information and Communication Technology team, focusing on intellectual property matters involving complex telecommunications and digital technologies. His responsibilities include conducting prior art searches, drafting patent applications, preparing technical analyses, developing patent protection strategies, and providing technical support in patent litigation. Before joining Licks Attorneys, Mr. Santos gained extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, with expertise in highspeed optical networks (DWDM, OTN), network automation (ASON, WSON), and advanced wireless systems (5G, 6G, FSO). He has also supported patent portfolios in Brazil covering optical communications, wireless networks, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital power systems. Mr. Santos combines a strong technical background with hands-on experience in patent prosecution, bridging engineering and intellectual property practice.
