InterDigital earned $834 million revenue in 2025, including a record level of smartphone revenue at $678.9 million (14% more than 2024), says its earnings release. Earnings fell by 4% year-over-year, but this was because 2024 brought large catch-up revenue from licences with Samsung TV, OPPO and Lenovo. Adjusted EBITDA for the year was $588.9 million with 71% margins.

“In our smartphone programme, we had a record-setting year in 2025,” CEO Liren Chen told analysts on the company’s earnings call on Thursday. “We completed the Samsung smartphone licensing contract that extended one of our longest customer relationships all the way to the end of 2030. We signed a new deal with two more “Top 10” global smartphone vendors, Vivo and Honor. With these additions, we have now licensed eight of the top 10 largest smartphone manufacturers, covering about 85% of the overall market. Our new agreement with Samsung is the most valuable licence in our history.”

The company also renewed its licence with Xiaomi, says its investor presentation. InterDigital recorded $582.4 million in “annualised recurring revenue”, as opposed to one-time catch-up payments, which is 24% higher than the company’s ARR in 2024. Among other business highlights in the year, InterDigital boasted of winning German and Brazilian injunctions against Disney and acquiring the AI start-up Deep Render.
