IP Bridge has sued Transsion in Brazil over an Advanced Video Coding (AVC) patent.
The Japanese patent licensing firm, which is a licensor in Via Licensing Alliance’s AVC/H.264 pool, is seeking an injunction against Transsion using the same patent it used to sue Chinese TV manufacturer Skyworth earlier this year: Brazilian Patent No. PI 0303566-2.
Meanwhile, Transsion – which has become one of the most prolific defendants in SEP disputes over the past few years – has released its half-year financial report, revealing that it has been putting more money aside for patent usage and after-sales warranty, and providing details of prepayments made to Access Advance.
