Rafaella Oliveira has been a chemist and patent specialist at Licks Attorneys’ Rio de Janeiro off ice since 2019. Ms. Oliveira has been working with intellectual property since 2009 and her expertise covers all aspects related to the prosecution of patent applications at the BRPTO, with emphasis on patent applications in the chemical field.
Ms. Oliveira acts analyzing and reporting technical opinions issued by the BRPTO, preparing briefs to comply/contest said technical opinions, preparing third party observations, performing prior art searches and draft ing patent applications, performing equivalent searches for BR applications as well as Freedom-tooperate (FTO) searches, preparing patent landscaping and technical opinions to support case laws. Ms. Oliveira has knowledge of the Brazilian IP law, normative instructions and examination guidelines issued by the BRPTO, as well as the main intellectual property treaties.
