BRPTO establishes its relationship and transparency policy
Today, December 3, 2024, BRPTO’s Official Gazette #2813 published Ordinance #46, of November 27, 2024, which establishes the Relationship and Transparency Policy of the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office- BRPTO.
The new rules present the objectives to be achieved with the Relationship and Transparency Policy, as well as its principles and guidelines, whose scope includes measures to guarantee the protection of data, information, and documents under Law #13,709 - Brazilian Data Protection Act (LGPD), of August 14, 2018, Law #12,527 - Brazilian Access to Information Law, of November 18, 2011, in line with the rights and duties of users of BRPTO services according to Law #13,460 - Rights of Users of Government Public Services, of June 26, 2017.
It introduces rules related to BRPTO’s direct contact with users, through phone call or by sending an electronic message to the user or their representative via a specific institutional e-mail address.
