Carla Schueler

Technical Specialist

Carla Schueler is a telecommunications engineer with a strong academic and research background in signal and data processing, computer vision, and software development. She has research experience in data processing and multimedia technologies, including image and video compression and lightfield coding.
Over the past years, Ms. Schueler has worked as a research software engineer at Microsoft, contributing primarily to the implementation of artificial intelligence services and products used worldwide. Her earlier research includes projects with Samsung Research Brasil and the Antennas and Propagation Laboratory (LAProp) at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), covering the evaluation of light-field compression techniques, wireless communications, signal acquisition, and statistical signal processing. Her research background also encompasses speech processing, speaker verification, image and video processing, and computer vision, with publications and a patent related to four-dimensional light-field coding. Ms. Schueler is proficient in Python, C#, and MATLAB, and fluent in Portuguese and English.
