Court of Appeals of São Paulo maintains Uber’s drivers partners freedom to drive

The 7th Public Law Chamber of the Court of Appeals of São Paulo rejected an interlocutory appeal filed by Sindicato dos Taxistas autônomos de São Paulo that sought to forbid Uber’s drivers partners from acting in the City of São Paulo.In the trial, the Appellate Judges understood that the appellants plead to limit the use of Uber app only to taxi drivers would not be possible dues to the difference between the individual public transportation service, performed by taxi drivers, and the private service provided by the drivers partners.The Chamber also affirmed that in view of the complexity of the issue, a further discussions should take place before the current scenario is altered.With such decision Uber and its drivers partners continue to perform their activities normally in São Paulo.
