Licks Attorneys’ patent specialist Antonio Morschbacker will be one of the Olympics torchbearers through the relay preceding the 2016 Summer Olympics. On Saturday, July 30, Mr. Morschbacker will run his 200-meter stretch in Guapimirim, RJ. Mr. Morschbacker was chosen as a torchbearer through a contest that selected Brazilians’ inspiring stories. He is a chemical engineer and the researcher that created the green plastic, which is made out of sugarcane without carbon fossil sources and consequently lowers carbon emissions. The green plastic was fully developed in Brazil, was awarded a number of Technology, Innovation and Sustainability and is now used by major global companies, pushing Brazil to a top global scientific and technological position.
