Matheus Ramalho joined Licks Attorneys in 2021, bringing an exceptional academic background and extensive expertise. Holding two PhDs — one in Corporate Law from USP and another in Procedural Law from UERJ — Matt offers a comprehensive understanding of legal frameworks and procedural intricacies.

He excels in comprehending technical matters and industry practices. Mr. Ramalho has successfully collaborated with expert teams on patent litigation disputes involving the validity and infringement of SEP and non-SEP ICT assets, pharmaceuticals, and mechanical industries. In addition to his involvement in high-stakes industrial and intellectual property disputes, he has worked on complex technical issues related to equity valuation and damage calculation in securities litigations, shareholder lawsuits, and investor derivative suits. His close attention to detail and thorough approach makes him a sought-after professional among peers and technical experts alike.

In his hybrid practice, Matt seamlessly combines high-level litigation activities with consulting and transactional matters. He has effectively enforced preliminary injunctions and developed strategies for award collections, both related to and beyond intellectual property. Additionally, he has managed significant transactions, including the acquisition of strategic distressed assets (such as trademarks, licenses, software, and technologies), negotiating licensing and cross-licensing agreements, and providing legal opinions on risk assessment and strategies to mitigate exposure in litigation or business operations.

Matt is currently serving his second term as President of the Legislative Affairs Consultancy Commission of the Rio de Janeiro Section of the Brazilian Bar Association. The commission provides legal instruction to policymakers, including Congressmen at both federal and state levels, Brazilian agencies, and the executive branch administration. His presidency over the Consultancy Committee is justified by his legal mastery, impressive track record, and proven specialization in a diverse range of legal services.

With deep knowledge of the Brazilian legal system and the ability to contextualize it within other jurisdictions, Matt offers a nuanced understanding of legal challenges. For reliable legal representation or advice, Matheus Ramalho is a trusted and invaluable resource.
