Alex Dalmasso is a Partner at Licks Attorneys and serves as one of our leaders at our Sao Paulo office. As the head of our Compliance team, Mr. Dalmasso collaborates with other practice areas on legal issues impacting corporations in Brazil. Before joining the firm, he gained experience in legal and compliance and has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with international companies such as GlaxoSmithKline, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Astellas, and Biogen.

During his career, Mr. Dalmasso has been involved in significant endeavors, including two mergers, the sale of 21 products, several distribution and license agreements, negotiating with the Brazilian government the sale of the Farmanguinhos website, and the establishment of a robust compliance culture. Under the supervision of an American judge within a deferred prosecution agreement, he successfully implemented a wide range of compliance tools. He has also engaged in discussions regarding Productive Development Partnerships (PDP), implementation of a global compliance culture, compliance investigations and forensics covering a wide variety of non-compliant actions such as corruption, fraud, conflicts of interests and harassment, risk assessments, compliance monitoring, compliance handbook for emerging markets, data protection (LGPD) compliance project and enhancement of a new brand of ethics and compliance department.

Furthermore, in recognition of his expertise and contributions, Mr. Dalmasso was elected as one of the most admired compliance officers in Brazil in 2018 according to a survey conducted by LEC (Legal, Ethics & Compliance Community). He serves as an adjunct professor, imparting his knowledge of Compliance and Legal Basis in Healthcare at ESPM in Sao Paulo-SP, as well as teaching Compliance at IBS/FGV in Belo Horizonte-MG. Additionally, Mr. Dalmasso has been a distinguished speaker at over 50 legal and life sciences Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars and programs.
