Danielle Altomari

Biologist and Patent Specialist

Danielle Altomari is a patent specialist who has been part of the Licks Attorneys team in the Rio de Janeiro office since 2018. Her practice focuses on litigation, patentability assessments, patent prosecution, and the protection and registration of plant varieties. She brings the expertise of 14 years of experience in biotechnology research, having worked
with environmental and industrial microbiology, biotechnology applied to the oil industry, petrochemicals, and biofuels, as well as laboratory management. Ms. Altomari Also has extensive knowledge of normative instructions, examination guidelines, the Brazilian Patent Statute, and major international intellectual property treaties. She is one of the inventors of Brazilian Patent BR 10 2016 015522-3, which relates to an enzymatic process for the post-consumption depolymerization of poly(ethylene terephthalate) via glycolysis and its recycling process.
